EVOLUTION OF THE ZERO POINT CHRISTMAS PARTY
by: Stacy Sasnett
My how far we have come from the days of celebrating the holidays in the very place we spend all of our days, the office. 10 years ago, our very first Christmas party was held at 1763 Princess Anne Rd, at HQ. The food was mostly made by myself and Perry accompanied by some dishes the employees were kind enough to bring in, all 8 employees. There were so few of us we invited friendly competitors and extended family to our party. We asked a friend to bar tend and did a “required” Secret Santa amongst employees, which really turned out to be gag gifts.
The next year, there were still so few of us, we crammed everyone into the only Hummer limo in town and took everyone out to dinner. It was a nice treat.
As we grew in size by the numbers, revenue and head count for that matter, our Christmas parties did too! We were fortunate the few years following to be able to lock down some the fanciest restaurants in town and have beautiful coursed out dining experiences. Perry would give speeches and if anyone glanced my way, they found a Cheshire grin across my face, so proud of my husband and so honored by the people whom we employed (that part has never changed).
We have lots of good memories, some of which we are humbled by, some of which we tease about. I’d like to think that along the way we gave a lot people an experience not to forget.
This year’s party was another not to be forgotten. We did it just a bit differently, we did not ask everyone to sit down and be quiet, but rather mingle and socialize with fun music playing, still at one of the fanciest restaurants in Town, Zöes. We had fabulous food, fine wine and a lot of laughs! Merry 10th Christmas for ZP!
